Urban Hope
St Stephen’s Youth Work Project flows from the church’s desire to actively love the community in which we live, especially those in particular need.
The church has employed a full-time youth worker for the past 13 years. This has led to the development of a project that works with about 15 young people who attend church and more than 80 who live nearby.
We offer a diverse programme of activities and support, run by two full-time youth workers, a student youth worker and a team of 15 volunteers.
The project seeks to promote the social, emotional and spiritual development of young people, many of whom are at risk of social exclusion. We do this by establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with them. We partner with them to provide the kind of activities they need.
